Swichio is a site that brings together online buying and selling with social networking. It allows you to leverage your community of familiar faces and Swichio Experts to influence buying decisions and build buyer-confidence. Being part of a trusted community, we make it possible to introduce not only buying and selling online, but also trading goods and services. That flexibility gives buyers and sellers more options for getting the best deals.

You must be a registered member first. Once you have registered, browse the site for gear or select the link in the header to "Sell Gear."
Why should I login via my Facebook account?
Logging in via your Facebook account allows you to connect to your friends more easily and spread the word about your listings to your entire social network. Promote your listings to your friends. Forget about emailing out links to your listings on other sites. Share your listings on Facebook with your friends. Ask them to share your link and promote it to their friends. At Swichio, we believe it's all about who know!
How do I tweet my listing?
To tweet, you must have a Twitter account. Don't have one? Sign-up, it's free. Tweeting your listings is another great way to promote your listing! We make it easy to tweet your listing on Swichio.

What is Swichio Gear?
Swichio has partnered with distributers to bring you great deals. These items are cash only and are not open to barters and trades.
When will my Swichio Gear be shipped?
Your items will be shipped within 48 hours of receiving your payment.

In accordance with United States law, users under the age of 18 may not register as placing a bid is considered a binding contract.

Are there listing fees?
No, there are no list fees. Swichio charges a small transaction fee, 5%, only if your items sells.
If there is a trade or barter as part of my deal, what is my transaction fee based on?
If your item sells, the transaction fee is based on the final value of the deal (cash, trade and barter items).
How can I keep track of the gear I'm selling?
Select the menu list under your name at the top of the page and navigate to the link to "My Listings for Sale".
Why do you need my credit card number to list an item?
Listing items are free. If your item sells, we charge a small 5% transaction fee. This will automatically be billed to your credit card.
Can I edit my listing?
You may edit your listing until you receive an offer for the item. At that time, you may not edit your listing. You may remove your listing and re-list it with the changes and notify any bidders so she may re-bid on your item. We will be continually making enhancements to the site and hope to have this feature shortly.
I changed my mind and don't want wish to sell my item. How do I cancel the listing?
Visit My Account. View your current listings. Select the Remove Listing button.
How much does it cost to sell an item?
It's free to list an item so you have nothing to lose! If your item sells, we charge a small 5% transaction fee. Compare our fees to other sites fees of 9% or more.
Can I remove my item and sell it outside of Swichio?
If a buyer finds your item on Swichio, it is our policy that the transaction be completed via Swichio. If you remove your item to circumvent paying the fees, you may be subject to a range of actions including suspending your buying and selling privileges. If you receive an offer to buy or sell outside Swichio, please report it.
How do I send a buyer a counter-off?
Decline the buyer's offer, but include in the comments section what you would accept as an offer and ask them to resubmit the offer.
Do I have to accept the offer with the highest value?
No. That is what is great about Swichio. The best deal is the one that is most attractive to you.
How do I get paid?
We provide you the ability to use PayPal to collect the cash portion of your deal. You also may make other arrangements with your buyer. If you know your buyer, or have a mutual friend with your buyer, you may feel comfortable taking cash or a check. If you would like to accept PayPal to collect the cash portion of your deals, enter the email address associated with your PayPal account in the PayPal field in registration or updated it on your profile.
Can I ship an item?
Yes. Shipping costs are between you and the buyer. We encourage you to specify in your listing if you are willing to ship an item, deliver an item or allow pickup only. We also encourage you to keep a tracking number when you ship an item so you have proof of shipping and proof that the buyer has received the item.
How do I contact a buyer?
You may contact a buyer through the website. Email links are provided throughout the site to send messages to buyers. You may view and reply to messages by going to visiting your inbox.
What can I sell on Swichio?
You may sell athletic equipment, athletic apparel, nutrition and sport services. However, Swichio provides you the unique ability to barter with sellers. You may barter any item you feel is of value to others (i.e. rental houses, sporting event tickets, services) as long as they are not prohibited by law.
When will my listing expire?
Listings are for 90 days. If you do not sell your item, go ahead an re-list it. There are no list fees so you have nothing to lose!
What if I don't see a category for the item I want to sell?
Send us an email. We will see if we can quickly add the right category for you.
How do I make an offer?
You must be logged in to make an offer on an item. Find the item you would like to bid on and select the "Build Offer" button. You may build an offer using any or all of the following, cash, items to trade (your items you have listed on the site), barter items (services, rental house, event tickets, etc.).
How can I keep track of the items I am bidding on?
Go to "My Account" and click on the link to view "Offers I Made to Others".
Are all of the items on Swichio second hand?
No. Item conditions may vary from Brand New to Fair. Seller will indicate the condition when they list their items.
What if I have a question about what I need?
Swichio provides the ability for you to use your network of friends to help you as well as Swichio experts in designated activities. Currently we have experts in swimming, biking, running and triathlon. As we grow, we will continue to add experts to other activities. I would like to have someone take a look at a used bike I'm interested in. What should I do?
Swichio has partnered with local bike shops to offer a Bike Check-up service. Ask your seller if s/he is willing to drop the bike off at the shop for a Bike Check-up. Please visit your community resources page to find out which shops offer this service and the price for the service.
How do I add an item to trade?
List your item on the site. When you build an offer, all of the items that you currently have listed will be available to be included in the deal as a trade. Use them in addition to cash and items to trade to make the most attractive offer to the seller.
How do I know if I am outbid on an item?
Only the buyer may determine the best offer for her. Because we provide the ability to trade and barter, the best offer may not necessarily be the highest cash offer. When making an offer, we encourage you to get creative and make your offer as attractive as possible to the seller.
Can I use an item to trade or barter in multiple offers?
Yes! Whichever offer is accepted first will secure that trade or barter item. All other offers that include that item will automatically be retracted. It's in a seller's best interest to act quickly if she receives a good offer.
How do I pay for an item?
You and the seller will make the best payment arrangements for you. Swichio provides the ability to pay via PayPal. However, you may know the seller or have mutual friends with the seller. This may give you more payment options (i.e. perhaps you can meet up at a friend's house or the seller may accept a check). If your seller accepts PayPal, you will receive a link in your confirmation email to make the payment via PayPal.
Do I have to have a PayPal account to pay via PayPal?
No. PayPal allows you to make payments with your credit card without having a PayPal account.
How do I get my item?
You and the seller will make arrangements to deliver your item. Since Swichio provides the unique ability to identify whether or not you know the seller or have mutual friends with the seller, this may provide more delivery options (i.e. perhaps you can meet up at a friend's house). If you have purchased a service (i.e. a personal coaching session), print out your email confirmation and bring it with you to your appointment.

You may contact a seller through the website. Email links are provided throughout the site to send messages to sellers. You may view and reply to messages by going to visiting your inbox.
What if my item doesn’t arrive?
Please try contacting the seller first. If you are unsuccessful in contacting the seller, and if you paid via PayPal, you may open a dispute through Pay Pal. Swichio was created to help facilitate transactions but remains independent of the transaction itself. Our hope is that by bringing social networking into an online transaction and putting a face with a deal, the chances of this happening will be reduced.
What can I barter?
You may barter anything that is not prohibited by law. Examples of items that may be of value to others are airline miles, hotel points or certificates, timeshares, event tickets, rental houses, etc.
Why do you need my Tax ID number to barter a service or rental house?
The IRS requires us to issue 1099's to report income for services or rental houses for amounts over $250. No need to worry. We will issue the 1099 and mail it to you when the time is right. You will just include it when you file your taxes. This only applies when bartering services or rental properties. This does not apply to any other barter items.
How do I add an item to barter?
Go to the Sell Gear page and select to add a barter item. Follow the simple steps to add the item. When you build an offer, all of the items that you currently have listed will be available to be included in the deal as a barter. Use them in addition to cash and items to trade to make the most attractive offer to the seller.
